Indonesian Government Never Seriously Supports Palestine

News:

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is on a state visit to Turkey and the Middle East from April 9-15, 2025. During his visit, he will discuss the Gaza conflict with King Abdullah II of Jordan, emphasizing Indonesia's humanitarian commitment and readiness to assist victims. Prabowo's itinerary includes meetings with leaders in Abu Dhabi, Ankara, Cairo, and Doha to strengthen geopolitical, industrial, trade, education, and cultural cooperation. Comment:

Prabowo's efforts to seek support from five Middle Eastern countries—United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan—for the evacuation of 1,000 Gaza residents to Indonesia are nothing more than a form of distraction politics by the regime, diverting attention from the core issue of occupation that must be firmly addressed.

This approach mirrors the behaviour of many OIC leaders who continuously sell the narrative of “humanity, humanity, and humanity,” while turning a blind eye to the real situation.

The issue is quite clear: the atrocities committed by the Jewish entity against the people of Gaza are part of a systematic chain of colonization, apartheid, and genocide that has persisted for decades. As long as the root of the problem is not confronted seriously and directly, all humanitarian aid efforts will only serve as a balm to endless suffering.

For too long, the concern shown by the Muslim world, including Indonesia, has been trapped in humanitarian rhetoric. We get angry, we grieve, we send medical supplies, logistics, and healthcare workers, but we refuse to acknowledge that occupation cannot be stopped simply by treating its victims. Occupation ends only through strength—through Jihad.

We are like kind-hearted spectators: watching someone being beaten, then offering them water and bandages, without ever stopping the attacker.

Indonesia, as a major country with the largest Muslim population in the world, should be more progressive and courageous. For instance, Indonesia has to be part of a military coalition with Muslim armies to liberate the Blessed Land of Palestine.

Prabowo should have used his visit to the Middle East to discuss joint political and military strategies to confront the Jewish entity and the Western alliances that have long shielded Zionist brutality, not to waste the state budget on a Middle East tour merely to discuss other cooperation agendas.

If the Islamic world continues to stay within the safe zone of “humanitarianism,” without the courage to face the true source of oppression, then we are effectively allowing the massacre to continue. Worse yet, we become complicit in the genocide of Gaza—especially when many Muslim-majority countries still maintain diplomatic and economic ties with the Zionist entity.

Therefore, it is time to stop playing with humanitarian narratives alone. The Islamic world has sufficient strength to stand against the Jewish entity and its supporters if they truly care. But if they are only pretending to care, then indeed, the leaders of the Muslim world are nothing more than friends of Zionism alongside the US and its allies.
