Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Tunisia Dialogue Forum
The Time Has Come for the Political Center to Emancipate from Western Colonialism
The Communications Committee of Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Tunisia organized a dialogue forum entitled "The Time Has Come for the Political Center to Emancipate from Western Colonialism" on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the party's conference hall in the Sukra Ariana intersection in the capital, Tunis.
The forum, presented by Ustaadh Habib, featured presentations by Engineer Yasser Al-Anwar and Ustaadh Abdul Raouf Al-Amri, and was attended by a large audience. The forum opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran.
In his opening remarks, Engineer Yasser Al-Anwar addressed the definition of a true revival (nahda), which must stem from a sound perspective i.e., from a correct doctrinal foundation that satisfies the mind and brings peace to the heart. He emphasized that a true revival is not measured solely by material and technological progress, but also by noble values and the elevation of humanity from a state of mere animalistic existence. He asserted that Muslims rose to prominence through a spiritual and political ideology, from which a comprehensive system for human life, society, and the state emerged, thus establishing the most advanced civilization in human history. Then, Ust. Abdul Raouf Al-Amiri explained in his talk that the Islamic Ummah has declined from its former status, which it held when it lived under its political entity, the "flower of the world," and during which it led humanity to security and stability. He added that the people of the nation have tried to rise again, but due to the intellectual, economic, and political hegemony of the West over Muslim lands, they have not succeeded. He asserted that true revival lies in embracing Islamic Aqeedah (doctrine) and the rulings and solutions derived from it—the fundamental solution for a genuine revival.
In his second talk, Eng. Yasser Al-Anwar stated that the conflict between nations is a conflict of principles and values, and is the most dangerous of all conflicts. He argued that Western civilization is based on the principle of separating religion from life, which has made it a civilization of money and moral decay, rather than a civilization of humanity. This is what the political establishment today adopts under the guise of democracy. He asserted that the political establishment today has a duty to return to the principles of Islam and make them the standard and starting point for its ideas and its political project: a caliphate based on the prophetic model.
In his second intervention, Ust. Abdul Raouf Al-Amiri addressed how the West exploited the "Islamic" movements, bringing them to power. After their failure, the West promoted the idea that political Islam was a failed project, despite these movements having adopted secular thought. He then discussed Islamic movements that adopted Islam in governance, such as the Taliban, Hamas, and the Union of Islamic Courts in Somalia. He attributed their failure to their lack of political awareness of reality, their adherence to the conditions and foundations set by the existing order, and the absence and lack of a clear, well-defined project to implement.
In his concluding remarks, Ust. Yassar Al-Anwar clarified that the divine promise and the glad tidings of our noble Prophet (saw) regarding the establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly Guided Caliphate) obligate Muslims to work towards fulfilling this promise. He explained that upon its establishment, the Rightly Guided Caliphate will work to remove all restrictions, illusions, and hardships, providing a dignified life for its citizens. It will be a leader in all fields, protecting the core of Islam from the plots of its enemies.
At the conclusion of the forum, Ust. Abdul Raouf Al-Amiri stated that those who desire change should not rely on the current corrupt reality, but rather proceed from the principles they have adopted and implement them—namely, the rulings and solutions derived from the compelling evidence of the Book of Allah (swt) and the Sunnah of His Messenger (saw). This can only be achieved through the nation's pledge of allegiance to a single Rightly Guided Caliph who fulfills the Shari' requirements for governance, implements the rulings of Islam, and carries its message of guidance to all humanity.
Thus, Hizb ut Tahrir in the Wilayah of Tunisia continues its tireless work to convey its project to the nation and entrust it with its Shari' duty: establishing the Deen of Allah on earth, the Deen chosen for it by its Creator, so that it may be as He stated in His Noble Book:
[كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ]
"You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient." [Aal-i Imran: 110]
