It is important we define metabolism, so that we can have a basic understanding of the title. Metabolism (metabolic) is the chemical process by which the body coverts food into energy. The process involves breaking down of food into sugars and acids through the digestive system.

This was a major diplomatic breakthrough for al-Assad who has faced a decade long uprising that saw his regime isolated in the region.
