The Hijri New Year arrives upon us on 1 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to 16/06/2026 CE. This is the date chosen by Al-Faruq Umar ibn Al-Khattab and the noble Sahabah (ra) as the calendar for the Muslims. He chose this date because it marked the birth of the first Islamic State established by our Messenger (saw) in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah.

Outrage and anger escalated in Tunisia last week following another tragic accident, this time in the Mazouna district of Sidi Bouzid governorate. The accident left several female farm workers injured and two dead at the scene. Tunisia witnesses a recurrence of such incidents due to the state's failure to put an end to unregulated transportation and improve the dire conditions of female farm workers!

On Sunday, 14 June 2026, the Jewish army carried out an airstrike targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut, only hours after warning residents of approximately 30 towns in southern Lebanon and ordering them to evacuate. The Axios news site reported that “the ‘Israeli’ military notified CENTCOM shortly before the strike in Beirut took place.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a speech delivered during a meeting of the Justice and Development Party's parliamentary group in the Turkish Parliament, stated: "We are well aware of the ultimate goal of the 'Promised Land' delusions, and God willing, we will never allow it." He clarified that Turkey's security does not begin in Hatay province in southern Turkey, but rather in Aleppo, Damascus, and Beirut.
