On the occasion of the 104th Hijri anniversary of the destruction of the Islamic State (the Khilafah) on the 28th of Rajab al-Muharram 1342 AH corresponding to March 3, 1924 CE at the hands of Arab and Turkish criminals.

Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Iraq issued a widely distributed leaflet, dated 2 Safar 1430 Hijri/28th January 2009, which outlined its view towards the Iraqi elections on Saturday 31st January 2009. The leaflet made it clear that these elections are a crime and that participation in them is Haram.
