The Interim Government has Set a Shameful Example Arresting Imtiaz Salim, member of Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Bangladesh

In the early hours of October 4, 2024, the interim government, in a tradition of the deposed dictator Hasina regime, arrested Imtiaz Salim, member of Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Bangladesh. According to them, his crime is that he participated in the political activities of Hizb ut Tahrir. As you have seen, Imtiaz Salim had submitted an application to the Home Ministry to lift an illegal ban imposed by the tyrant Hasina government on Hizb ut Tahrir and after that held a press briefing with the legal team regarding the submission of the application. Is it his crime to challenge the unjust orders of the tyrant Hasina government on the sincere and truthful political party Hizb ut Tahrir? Is it a crime that he on behalf of Hizb ut Tahrir demanded to get back the political rights taken away by the tyrant Hasina government? We, Hizb ut Tahrir demand the immediate and unconditional release of Imtiaz Selim.

You are already aware of why Hasina government imposed illegal ban on Hizb ut Tahrir. In 2009, when the brutal massacre in Pilkhana took place in the conspiracy of Hasina and India, the only party in Bangladesh to expose this matter to the nation with devotion and courage was Hizb ut Tahrir. The murderous Hasina government failed to deal with Hizb ut Tahrir politically, and imposed illegal and unjust restrictions on its activities through a mere press note - with no memo no., no SRO no. and no mention of law - to suppress its true and protesting voice. However, Hizb ut Tahrir continued its activities, especially protesting the arrests, disappearances, murders, dismissals of army officers by the Hasina government and continued its uncompromising political struggle against Hasina government’s anti-Islamic, anti-Country and anti-People activities. In such a context, the tyrant Hasina in 2013 once again disregarded any law and order, by forceful executive order listed Hizb ut Tahrir under the infamous Anti-Terrorism Act.

Immediately after the fall of the Hasina government, various fabricated, false and provocative statements and news against Islam and Hizb ut Tahrir were being circulated by the Indian regime and their media. We ask, does the interim government have their loyalty to Western powers and India? What are they trying to prove by arresting Imtiaz Salim, a member of Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Bangladesh? We, Hizb ut Tahrir call upon the interim government to stop dependence on Western Kafir Colonialists and their regional ally India like the agent Hasina, and turn back to the emotions and aspirations of the people. You should note that the students, upon whose blood you have come to power, are strongly criticizing your pro-Indian policy. Allah (swt) says,

[لَا يَتَّخِذِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي شَيْءٍ]

“Let not believers take disbelievers as allies [i.e., supporters or protectors] rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing [i.e., no association] with Allah” [Surah Aal-i-Imran: 28].

We want to reiterate in clear terms that Hizb ut Tahrir is a truthful and systematic political party whose objective is to revive the Muslim Ummah and restore the Islamic way of life by establishing the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood, and free the Muslim Ummah from the clutch of the Western Colonialist States and their regional allies. Allah (swt) says,

[وَلْتَكُنْ مِنْكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنْ الْمُنْكَرِ وَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمْ الْمُفْلِحُونَ]

“And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful” [Surah Aal-i-Imran: 104]. Only through the establishment of Khilafah on the method of the Prophethood the new Bangladesh will become a just and leading State. Therefore, we, on behalf of Hizb ut Tahrir, call upon all the sincere and influential people of the country, to work hand in hand with Hizb ut Tahrir and stand with us to bring back the Khilafah on the method of the Prophethood.

«ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مُلْكًا جَبْرِيَّةً فَتَكُونُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ»

“…then there will be end of tyranny. Then there will be Khilafah on the method of Prophethood” (Hadith: Musnad Ahmad)
