Imams Owe No Explanation to Terror-Sympathizing Ministers

On October 23, 2024, Jyllands-Posten published an article titled “Imams must answer: Investigation prompts ministers to summon Islam’s religious leaders in Denmark for a ’serious talk’.” With the Minister of Assimilation and the Minister of Churches posing together in no fewer than four photos, we were informed that they planned to hold a serious discussion on values, antisemitism, and the Muslim stance on the Palestine issue at a meeting with imams and Muslim representatives on October 24, 2024.

It is a positive development that the Muslim representatives canceled their participation in the meeting and refused to be “summoned” by ministers who have openly declared their intention to assimilate Muslims into the same values that have enabled them to support Zionist state terror and over a year of genocide in Gaza. There is no basis for meaningful or equal dialogue between representatives of the Muslim community and shameless ministers, whose so-called values are deeply buried in the ashes of a genocide.

Muslims and non-Muslims alike, those with decency and basic humanity intact, have clearly shown over the past year that they refuse to silently accept the unspeakable Zionist crimes that the Danish government has done everything to whitewash. While they wholeheartedly support the systematic terrorization of the rightful people of Palestine, they target, with the terrorism card in hand, particularly Muslim voices calling for the liberation of Palestine. In the other hand, they clutch the antisemitism card, which, especially with the new legal package on the matter, has been revealed to be the thin veil it is, used to criminalize resistance against the genocidal Zionist occupation.

With arrogance oozing from every pore of their bodies, these ministers want to preach morals and values to the Muslim community.

One thing, however, they are right about: a clear message is needed:

- The value system represented by the Danish government has failed utterly in the ongoing genocide. Muslims have no reason whatsoever to subscribe to it. Dybvad and Dahlin (the ministers in question) can hate it as much as they want. After all, they are no novices when it comes to hatred against Islam.

- Muslims cannot be held responsible for the deep, historically rooted Jew-hatred in Europe that led to crimes which are now being exploited politically to whitewash genocide and ethnic cleansing carried out by Zionist Jews of European origin against primarily Muslim victims in Palestine.

- The total liberation of all of Palestine through the eradication of the brutal military occupation called “Israel” is an Islamic duty and a human necessity, which should be declared loudly and unequivocally, not least from mosque pulpits.

- There is only one valid reason for Muslim representatives to meet with politicians who fight against Muslim values, restrict our rights, and support state terror and mass killings of children and women—to expose their evil and hypocrisy and to unequivocally refuse to bow even slightly to their demands and threats, regardless of the consequences.
