On October 18, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court acquitted the accused Shahrukh Jatoi, of murder in the notorious Shahzeb murder case. Although this verdict sparked public condemnation, it was not unexpected. In dozens of previous verdicts, including the Nazim Jokhi, Raymond Davis, Abdul Majeed Achakzai cases, courts have given colonialists and other powerful people a way to escape through various legal loopholes.
