The Court in Al-Showak City Sentenced Members of Hizb ut Tahrir for Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil and Enlightening their Ummah!
(Translated)

On Wednesday, 24/12/2025, The Court in Al-Showak city, Sudan, sentenced five members of Hizb ut Tahrir with a fine of one million pounds each, and in case of non-payment, four months-imprisonment for each of them. This sentence was based on a peaceful conceptual stand held by Hizb ut Tahrir members in front of the old mosque in Al-Showak on Friday 19/12/2025. During the demonstration, Sheikh Othman Al-Amin Kanda, a member of Hizb ut Tahrir, addressed the attendees, warning of the dangers of an American plan to separate Sudan by its own people through the separation of the Darfur region. The members held banners at the stand that read: "Thwart America's plan to separate Darfur with the 'borders of blood’s scheme," and "Prevent the separation of Darfur and establish the Khilafah (Caliphate) to eradicate the influence of the kafir West from your land," among other slogans on the same subject.

Following this address, five members were arrested: Othman al-Amin Kanda, Hassan al-Amin Kanda, Muhammad Thamin, Ahmed Babiker, and al-Amin Abdullah. They were the ones against whom the aforementioned sentences were issued. Their only crime was that they went out to enjoin what is good—namely, preserving the unity of the state and the unity of the Ummah—and to forbid what is evil—namely, the tearing apart of the country's unity by separating Darfur—and to warn their Ummah of their enemy's schemes!

Allah’s words describe the state of the Sudanese rulers and their courts:

[فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا أَخْرِجُوا آلَ لُوطٍ مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ]

“But his people’s only response was to say, “Expel Lot’s followers from your land! They are a people who wish to remain chaste!” [An-Naml: 56].

This is our state, O Muslims, after 105 lean years since the fall of the Khilafah (Caliphate), during which the rulings, systems, and laws of Islam have been absent from our lives, and so the good is considered evil and what the evil is considered good!

We in Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah of Sudan issued a statement at that time, warning the government of the consequences of its actions in obstructing the path of Allah and accepting the fragmentation of Sudan. We reminded them of the fear of Allah (swt), but it seems that these words of Allah (swt) apply to them:

[وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُ اتَّقِ اللَّهَ أَخَذَتْهُ الْعِزَّةُ بِالْإِثْمِ فَحَسْبُهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ]

“When it is said to them, “Fear Allah,” pride carries them off to sin. Hell will be their proper place. What an evil place to rest!” [Al-Baqarah: 206].

Otherwise, how can we understand that someone who goes out to enlighten the Ummah about the conspiracies being hatched against it by the kuffar, colonial West—conspiracies aimed at tearing apart its unity, a matter of life and death, for which Islam commands Muslims to take a life-or-death stance—is arrested and then tried as if he were a criminal?!

The real criminal who should be tried is the one who accepts that the Kafir America should take charge of the Sudan file to separate Darfur, just as it did when it took charge of South Sudan and separated it from Sudan.

But under these regimes of humiliation and subjugation, those who strive to thwart the conspiracy to tear the country apart are tried, and those who preserve its unity are tried, while at the same time, those who seek or condone its fragmentation and disintegration are honoured!

We in Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan, on the 105th anniversary of the destruction of the Khilafah, call upon the sons of the Ummah, especially the people of Sudan, to work towards establishing the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly Guided Caliphate) on the method of Prophethood, whose return was foretold in the glad-tiding of the beloved Muhammad (saw), who said:

«ثًمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ»

“Then there will be Khilafah on the method of Prophethood”. That was after he (saw) said: «ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مُلْكاً جَبْرِيَّةً» “Then there will be an Oppressive rule” This is the era we are living in today, and only the Khilafah will preserve the unity of the Ummah and the unity of its State.

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا للهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ]

“O believers! Respond to Allah and His Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah stands between a person and their heart, and that to Him you will all be gathered” [Al-Anfal: 24]
