In its inaugural index on women empowerment, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) compares single women, those in monogamous and polygamous marriages and widows.  The rate of empowerment is highest among unmarried women (37 per cent), but drops to 27 per cent when they tie the knot or begin cohabiting with a man. KNBS described empowerment largely as the ability to make choices (The Star, 12/08/2020).

In recent years, the West through the international non-profit organizations and pro-Western media, has actively begun to implement the idea of gender equality in the countries of Central Asia. Moreover, the West is trying to associate gender inequality in our region with the centuries-old Islamic culture and the way of life of our peoples.

A massive explosion devastated the port city of Beirut on Tuesday 4th August, killing at least 200 people, injuring over 6,000, and leaving hundreds of people homeless and missing as thousands of homes were reduced to rubble.

Animals were subjected to a string of brutal attacks at a farm that sells goats’ milk to Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and other supermarkets, footage from hidden cameras has revealed.
