The People of Palestine between the Anvil of the Authority and the Hammer of the Occupation

The Jewish entity launched a large-scale military operation in the city of Jenin, its refugee camp, and surrounding areas on Tuesday 21 January 2025. The declared goal of the operation was to “thwart terrorist activities.” The entity named this operation “The Iron Wall,” reminiscent of the major operation it carried out in the West Bank in 2002, which was then called “The Defensive Shield.” This “Iron Wall” operation marks the third major incursion by the Jewish army into Jenin in less than two years. In its initial hours, the operation resulted in the martyrdom of ten fighters and the injury of forty others, as the criminal Jewish army used drones to bomb houses and cars. It also imposed a complete siege, arrested dozens, forced thousands of residents to flee, destroyed infrastructure, and demolished dozens of homes.

This large-scale operation by the Jewish entity’s army, whose crimes against the people of Palestine never cease, and whose thirst for their blood is never quenched, is particularly significant in terms of its timing and the surrounding circumstances:

It began immediately after the announcement of a temporary ceasefire agreement in Gaza and a prisoner exchange deal, confirming that the entity’s objective is to save face, after failing to achieve its declared goals in Gaza, especially the elimination of resistance fighters, and the forced return of its captives through military means.

Analysts have suggested that this operation signals a shift in the political and military strategy of the entity following the war on Gaza and Lebanon. It is expected to last for a long period and extend to other areas in the West Bank, where its army has already tightened the separation between different regions. More significantly, this large-scale operation brings back into focus the plan to annex the West Bank, especially given that the newly elected U.S. President, Trump, has given the entity a free hand in the region. (Source: Al-Ahram Gate, January 25, 2025)

“Middle East Eye” published an article by journalist David Hearst entitled “In the West Bank, Trump is giving Netanyahu a free hand to blow up the region.” The article states, “With the accompanying settler attack on the Palestinian town of Funduq, as Trump was lifting sanctions on its most violent lynch mobs, you could be forgiven for thinking that ‘Israel’ had merely pressed the pause button on Gaza, only to unleash the same hell on the West Bank. Within hours, 10 bodies lay on the streets of Jenin, too dangerous to retrieve. So has the pattern for Trump’s second term in office already been set, and is this what it looks like?”

This operation by the Jewish army follows the criminal campaign launched by the Dayton Accords’ Authority against Jenin and its refugee camp under the pretext of “protecting the homeland.” The security forces of the Palestinian Authority carried out killings, arrests, displacements, and demolitions, the same crimes committed by the Jewish entity, claiming to pursue those it labels “outlaws,” whom the occupation refers to as “terrorists.” The Palestinian Authority adopted the same narrative used by the Jewish entity to justify its genocidal actions in Gaza and the West Bank.

The Palestinian Authority has sunk to an unprecedented level of betrayal, audacity, and criminal oppression against the people of Palestine. It besieged the Jenin camp, shed the blood of its resistance fighters, and forced its residents to flee under the threat of arms.

When local dignitaries sought to mediate a resolution to this situation, which serves only the occupation and brings nothing but weakness and internal strife to Palestinians, the Palestinian Authority initially agreed to the initiative. However, it soon reneged, just as its Jewish masters do, and resumed its persecution, killing, and arresting of resistance fighters.

The betrayal did not stop there. After dismantling the defensive measures set up by the fighters to protect the camp from the Jewish army and deceiving them by accepting the dignitaries’ initiative, persuading them to leave Jenin and its camp for the surrounding areas, the Palestinian Authority withdrew the moment the Jewish army launched its operation. This left the residents of the camp completely defenseless, exposing them to their fate, and completing the spectacle of role-swapping between the Palestinian Authority and the Jewish entity.

Then, the Palestinian Authority continued its descent into disgrace, openly and actively participating in the Jewish army’s operation. It shot a young man in the head, besieged a group of resistance fighters inside Al-Razi Hospital in Jenin, arrested them, and even seized an injured fugitive from within the hospital. It also set up ambushes in the rural areas of Jenin, capturing resistance fighters who had sought refuge there. (Al-Shahed, January 22, 2025)

Thus, while the people of Palestine find themselves caught between the hammer of the occupation, and the anvil of the treacherous authority, they pay with their blood the price of Jewish hatred, the Zionists’ thirst for their lives, and their expansionist ambitions. They bear the cost of appeasing religious Zionism, the unconditional support of successive U.S. administrations and the international order, and the betrayal and collusion of agent rulers, along with the inaction of Muslim armies. They also pay the price for the orchestrated role-swapping between the occupation and the Oslo Authority, the deals struck between America and the Jewish entity, and internal Zionist agreements.

Above all, they pay for the delay of the Muslim Ummah in fulfilling its Shariah obligation, an obligation from which neither salvation nor honor can be attained, either in this world or the hereafter, except by rising up against its rulers and regimes, reclaiming its authority and strength, implementing the Shariah Law of its Lord, following the Sunnah of its Prophet (saw), and moblizing with its armies to liberate the land of Palestine and Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa. Only through this will Palestine and the entire Ummah be freed completely from the oppression of America, the Jewish entity, and their collaborators. And by the permission of their Lord, they are fully capable of achieving this.

[وَمَا لَكُمْ لَا تُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَالْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ وَالْوِلْدَانِ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ الظَّالِمِ أَهْلُهَا وَاجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيّاً وَاجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ نَصِيراً * الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ الطَّاغُوتِ فَقَاتِلُوا أَوْلِيَاءَ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّ كَيْدَ الشَّيْطَانِ كَانَ ضَعِيفاً]

“And what is the matter with you that you do not fight in the cause of Allah and for the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, ‘Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper’? Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of Taghut. So fight against the allies of Satan. Indeed, the plot of Satan has ever been weak.” (TMQ Surah An-Nisa’a 4:75-76)
