Demonstration against Russian repression of Muslims

  • Published in Video
  •   |

13 June 2011, Sydney, Australia - Muslims gathered outside the Russian Consulate in Sydney today demonstrating against repression of Muslims, women in particular, by Russian authorities.

The following messages were delivered:

1. Muslims in Australia, and around the world, strongly condemn Russia's continued targeting of Muslims. In spite of presenting a new face of civilisation and progress to the world, Russia continues to use barbaric tactics of repression and extra-legal measures whenever expedient.

2. The use of the pretext of fighting terrorism to target and silence Muslims is old and lame. Russia does not fool anyone by its cheap tactics.

3. The targeting of Muslim woman in particular - as has occurred recently in the city of Ufa - is a low that Russia should be ashamed of, and it highlights the severity of her crimes. The honour of our mothers, sisters and wives is absolutely sacrosanct, and a matter Muslims do not take lightly at all.

4. Russia should not think that the Muslims within her borders are a small minority which she can deal with as she pleases. The Muslims of Russia are not a minority; they are an inextricable part of the global Muslim nation.

5. Russia should not take advantage of the fact that the current regimes in the Muslim World are all lackeys of the West that do not care for the welfare of Muslims around the world. The time when these regimes will be relegated to the dustbin of history and replaced with the Caliphate is near. The excesses that Russia commits now will not be forgotten and the Caliphate will deal with those who oppress Muslims swiftly and severely.

Ends.

1/ Police in Sudan break up Islamist demonstration

By MOHAMMED OSMAN
Associated Press Published: Saturday, Jun. 11, 2011 - 8:43 am

KHARTOUM, Sudan -- Police used tear gas and batons to break up an Islamist demonstration Saturday calling for more troops in disputed southern border regions less than a month before the south's independence, a spokesman for the leading Islamist party said.

North and south Sudan fought a more than two-decade civil war that ended with a 2005 peace agreement, and the south voted overwhelmingly for independence. Southern Sudan is poised to become the world's newest nation in July.

But tensions over the border regions of Abyei - a fertile land near major oil fields - and Kordofan have raised fears of conflict only weeks before the south secedes.

Saturday's demonstration had the proper permits and was intended to be a show of support for the north's decision to send troops to Abyei and Kordufan, said Ibrahim Osman Abu Khalil, spokesman for the Islamic Liberation Party. But he said as some 5,000 members gathered outside the party headquarters, officials suddenly announced that it was no longer allowed.

Abu Khalil said seven party members were arrested and two remained in detention hours later. One party member was seriously injured, he said.

Northern troops invaded Abyei after a May 19 attack on northern and U.N. troops by southern soldiers. The U.N. report said two northern soldiers were killed in that attack, which it called a trigger for the invasion but one that appeared to be a "deliberate plan" by the north, which was already building up troops in the area.

Abul Mal Muhit Presents Annual Awami Pillage Plan (AAPP)!

On 8th June (2011), the Hasina government's Finance Minister Abul Mal Muhit presented the Annual Awami Pillage Plan for 2011-12 of BDT 1,63,589 crores! It is enough for someone to note that the objective of 2011-12 budget mentioned by A. Muhit that, "...high performing growth supported by advanced and innovative technology with prices of commodities stabilized, increasing income and human poverty brought to a minimum level, health and education for all secured and capacity building combined with enhanced creativity, social justice established, social disparity reduced...", is almost an exact repetition of the one presented approximately 40 years earlier by first Finance Minister Captain Mansur Ali ".... ...prices of commodities stabilized, increasing income and human poverty brought to a minimum level, health and education for all secured, social justice established, and social disparity reduced....". The Muslims of Bangladesh state clearly their hate and reject of the pillage plan, rhetoric and pack of lies by the servants of IMF and WB, treacherous agents and looters.

The Pillage Plan states that 8% of the total financing will come from foreign loan while 11% of the expenditure is for payment of interest on foreign loans, which clearly highlights to the people that the budget is nothing but a plan to loot the people's wealth and consolidate IMF and WB domination. In the name of the Public Resources Management Credit (PRMC) dictated by IMF and WB the government imposed more taxes and VAT. These organizations have at first suggested the liberalization of interest rate (in 1990s), and then came up with the PRMC. Later on they came up with more lethal weapon of killing people known as Poverty Reduction Strategic Plan (PRSP). With its total failure to reduce poverty, income inequality, they have introduced SAP (structural adjustment program) to open the market via trade liberalization and privatization. In reality the idea of free trade opened Bangladeshi market to US-UK-Indian companies, ending up with heavy trade deficit, lack of local industry and more debt burden upon the people. After the visible failure of SAP they are now calling for PPP (public private partnership), a new form of privatization policy in disguise. Thus like the political domination of the imperialists, IMF and WB dictate the economic affairs of the Ummah to the point that one WB officials in Dhaka said that ‘........the thing is that we don't want to reach an agreement with the government every time we make an engagement, rather we want to impose a policy, that will work best.... '

Only the Islamic economic system under the leadership of Khilafah "Caliphate" State will liberate the Muslims of Bangladesh from the brutality of capitalist economic system. The most important responsibility of the Khilafah "Caliphate" state will be to fulfill the basic needs of all people. The main economic policy will be distribution of wealth. No tax is imposed on income or expenditure like VAT, rather it is only collected on wealth in the form of Zakah, Ushr, Kharaj and other sources like Jizyah, Fa'i etc. Interest based financial system and capitalist digital looting machine stock market will be abolished to release more fund for real sector investment and productivity. Since electricity, gas, oil and minerals are public properties they will not be handed over to a few private or or imperialist capitalist companies like Summit power or Conoco Philips in the name of privatization. All these resources will be provided to the people at maintenance cost. Dollar based currency system will be abolished to axe American hands in our economy and international and local inflationary effect on purchasing power by  introducing Shari'ah compliant gold and silver standard. Hizb ut-Tahrir calls upon the people to root out capitalist slaves like Hasina-Khaleda and to establish Khilafah "Caliphate" so that the Ummah can become liberated from the shackles of capitalist system.

Poverty, unemployment, price hike etc are the result of the kufr democratic system;  Khilafah is the only solution

Members of Hizb ut-tahrir delivered public speeches after Jummah prayers today outside various mosques in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet where they said poverty, unemployment, price hike, electricity crisis etc are the result of the kufr democratic system; and the Khilafah "Caliphate" is the only solution. The speakers said whatever causes the Awami-BNP rulers mention for these problems such as ‘we don't have enough wealth in the country', or ‘prices have increased in the international market', or ‘the previous governments are to blame', these are nothing but lies and deception. The fundamental basis of democracy is the real cause of the multitude of problems this country is facing.

In the democratic system sovereignty and power is concentrated in the hands of a minority elite who make laws according their own interests and rule the country in the way they wish. The rulers in the democratic system take no responsibility for the people; their sole concern is consolidating their position in power and filling their own pockets by impoverishing the people. Furthermore while the rulers enjoy absolute power, yet their accountability is zero.

Only the Khilafah "Caliphate" ruling system can solve the problems of the country because it is the system from Allah (swt), our Lord and Creator. Under this system the Khaleefah has no right to legislate, so he has no scope to be despotic or rule in the way he wishes. The Khaleefah rules the people fearing Allah (swt) and feeling responsibility towards the people. He has to fulfil the basic needs of the people and after that facilitate the fulfilment of their luxurious needs. The Khaleefah also has to account for his actions to all citizens of the state, Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Indeed with Khilafah "Caliphate" system people's misery and hardship will end; otherwise they will continue to persist for many more decades to come. Allah (swt) says,

"And whosoever turns away from My Message, verily for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment." [TMQ Surah Ta-Ha: 124]

British royalty dined on human flesh
They have long been famed for their love of lavish banquets and rich recipes.  But what is less well known is that the British royals also had a taste for human flesh. A new book on medicinal cannibalism has revealed that possibly as recently as the end of the 18th century British royalty swallowed parts of the human body. The author adds that this was not a practice reserved for monarchs but was widespread among the well-to-do in Europe. Even as they denounced the barbaric cannibals of the New World, they applied, drank, or wore powdered Egyptian mummy, human fat, flesh, bone, blood, brains and skin. Moss taken from the skulls of dead soldiers was even used as a cure for nosebleeds, according to Dr Richard Sugg at Durham University. Dr Sugg said: 'The human body has been widely used as a therapeutic agent with the most popular treatments involving flesh, bone or blood. 'Cannibalism was found not only in the New World, as often believed, but also in Europe. 'One thing we are rarely taught at school yet is evidenced in literary and historic texts of the time is this: James I refused corpse medicine; Charles II made his own corpse medicine; and Charles I was made into corpse medicine.''Along with Charles II, eminent users or prescribers included Francis I, Elizabeth I's surgeon John Banister, Elizabeth Grey, Countess of Kent, Robert Boyle, Thomas Willis, William III, and Queen Mary.'

China threatens to dump the US dollar
The dollar fell to a one-month low against a basket of currencies on Tuesday and a record low against the Swiss franc after a Chinese official said the greenback would continue to weaken versus other major currencies. The head of the international payment department at the Chinese forex regulator also warned about the risks of excessive holdings of U.S. dollars. The dollar index [.DXY  73.61    0.09  (+0.12%)   ]fell to a low of 73.601, the lowest since May 5, while the greenback fell to 0.8328 Swiss francs on trading platform EBS a record low."China has been growing its share of U.S. securities quite aggressively in the past, and the threat that they will be  selling these holdings has always been there," said Adam Myers, senior forex strategist at Credit Agricole."But this is not a credible threat as a sell-off will lead  to a steepening of the U.S. yield curve which will hurt the U.S. and the Chinese, who are dependent on the U.S. economy. But I do agree that the dollar is headed lower in the long term."

Clinton and NATO to Plan Libya Post-Qaddafi as Yemen Unravels
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton heads to Abu Dhabi to discuss with NATO allies the outlook for Libya without Muammar Qaddafi. With North Atlantic Treaty Organization jets stepping up daytime strikes on the Libyan capital of Tripoli, the United Arab Emirates will host Clinton and other members of the 22- nation Libya Contact Group. President Barack Obama renewed his demand that Qaddafi leave as a growing chorus of world leaders predicted the demise of the Libyan dictator, who after a 42-year rule has failed to crush a popular uprising that began mid-February. Qaddafi "must step down and hand power to the Libyan people," Obama said yesterday at a joint news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Washington. "The pressure will only continue to increase until he does." NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said this week Qaddafi is now "part of Libya's past," signaling the time has come to start planning for the aftermath. Qaddafi remains in control of the capital, in the country's west, even though rebels are running most of eastern Libya. In London, U.K. Foreign Secretary William Hague told lawmakers in the House of Commons that the "Qaddafi regime is isolated and on the defensive." Merkel, standing next to Obama, said "Qaddafi needs to step down and he will step down."

European powers step up pressure on Syria
European powers are increasing pressure on the UN Security Council to break its silence on events in Syria following a bloody government crackdown on pro-democracy protests in the country. Britain, France, Germany and Portugal have circulated a draft resolution that would condemn the crackdown and demand an immediate end to the violence in Syria. However, the proposal falls short of calling for military action or further UN sanctions against the Syrian government. "The repression is getting worse. The massacres are on the rise. It is inconceivable that the United Nations remains silent on such a matter," Alain Juppe, the French foreign minister, said. "We are working with our UK friends to have as large a majority as possible on the Security Council. I think we have to move to a vote so that everyone can assume their responsibilities." But Russia, citing NATO's inconclusive bombing of the Libyan capital, Tripoli, said it would veto intervention against Syria in the Security Council.

US officials: Yemen leader heavily burned in blast
President Ali Abdullah Saleh was burned over 40 percent of his body and suffered bleeding in the brain from last weekend's attack on his palace, U.S. officials said, indicating his wounds were worse than initially reported. The revelation casts doubts on a quick return to Yemen and spells a deepening power vacuum. In the wake of Saleh's evacuation to Saudi Arabia for treatment, Yemen's violence escalated, with government troops battling Islamic militants and opposition tribesmen in two southern cities on Tuesday. The military said it killed 30 militants who were among a group that took over the city of Zinjibar last week amid the country's turmoil. Washington and Saudi Arabia are pushing Yemeni officials to seize the opportunity of Saleh's evacuation to immediately begin a transfer of power and formation of a new government. The U.S. ambassador in Sanaa spoke with Vice President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who is acting president, to press the American view, State Department spokesman Mark Toner told reporters Tuesday in Washington. Toner said he wasn't sure how long Saleh would undergo treatment in Saudi Arabia, or whether he still planned on returning. But he said Yemen needed to move forward in the meantime. "We need to see all sides moving forward on a constructive basis," he said.

Iran accuses US of planning to sabotage Pakistan N-facilities
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has accused Washington, Tehran's arch-foe, of planning to sabotage Pakistan's nuclear facilities.  "We have precise information that America wants to sabotage the Pakistani nuclear facilities in order to control Pakistan and to weaken the government and people of Pakistan," he said at a press conference here on Tuesday. The United States would then use the UN Security Council "and some other international bodies as levers to prepare the ground for a massive presence (in Pakistan) and weaken the sovereignty of Pakistan," Ahmadinejad added, without elaborating. Pakistan is the only Islamic nation with nuclear weapons, and has close relations with Iran.

India: No 'assurance' on Lagarde IMF bid
India's finance minister has said there is "no assurance" the country will support French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde's bid to head the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Pranab Mukherjee's remarks came after a meeting with Ms Lagarde. Ms Lagarde was in Delhi on Tuesday on the latest leg of a world tour aimed at drumming up support for her bid. Emerging economies have voiced their concerns over the continuing hold of European nations over the IMF. Former IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn resigned amid US sex assault charges. Ms Lagarde met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee during her day long visit to India. "There is no assurance [on supporting Christine Lagarde]. We are working on a consensus," Mr Mukherjee was quoted as saying by the state-run Doordarshan News after his meeting with Ms Lagarde. Mr Mukherjee said India "wants election of managing director of IMF to be on the basis of merit and competence and to be held in a transparent manner and not on any particular nationality".
