Netherlands: Seminar entitled, "Future of Muslims in the Netherlands"

Under the title "The Future of Muslims in the Netherlands," the Furqan student group at the University of Amsterdam organized a seminar on Friday for 02/13/2015 to discuss the Muslims' situation in the Netherlands at a time when attacks increased against Muslims in this country and other European countries, and for this purpose, the Furqan hosted Dr. Martin de Koning, a professor of religion at the Amsterdam Open University and an expert in Islam, and Mr. Okay Pala, Media Representative of Hizb ut Tahrir in the Netherlands.
This has the seminar included two talks, Dr. Martin de Koning gave the first talk, where he began with tributes to Muslims in the Netherlands, and touched on the achievements and projects achieved by the Muslims in this country that have served and continues to serve the Muslim community as a whole from mosques, financial institutions and cemeteries for Muslims. However at the same time, he drew attention to the current situation makes forecasting very difficult future for Muslims in the Netherlands, at least in the near term, and concluded by saying that the term "Islamophobia" has become for the first time occupies the political agenda, and that the Muslim community that rely on themselves to achieve their interests, without relying on anyone that does the work on their behalf.
The second talk was by Okay Pala, Media Representative of Hizb ut Tahrir in the Netherlands, where he clarified three important points:
1. The reality of the situation: that Muslims live in a liberal democratic state, and pointed out that it is not considered inconsistent with the provisions of Islam in terms of living in Dar al-Kufr.
2. Identity: The fact that Islam imposes on the Muslim way of life and the formation of their personality, therefore Muslims differ in their way of life and their character from other people.
3. Coexistence: The fact that Islam is not an obstacle to the coexistence of Muslims with others, but on the contrary, quite, the Muslims, Christians and Jews lived in one community for many years, but the politicians and the media and what they have done to create an environment of hatred, made of coexistence is extremely difficult.
