The Islamabad High Court (IHC) was informed on Friday that former US President Joe Biden had rejected Dr. Aafia Siddiqui's mercy petition. Justice Sardar Ejaz remarked, “The US is showing us our worth." The judge also criticized the US administration, drawing a comparison between Biden’s pardoning of his son’s sentence and the denial of clemency for Dr. Aafia, a Pakistani citizen. (Tribune)

Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced that the government has agreed to obtain a loan of one billion dollars from two Middle Eastern banks, with an interest rate of 6 to 7 percent. This will be a short-term loan and is being taken to address Pakistan's financial difficulties.

 Türkiye declared 2025 as the “Year of the Family”. Within this framework, interest-free loans have been announced for newly married couples and new childbirth support packages for children born after 1st of January 2025.

In the early hours of Friday morning, 27 December, Swedish police urgently deported Farhod Negmatov and his three daughters to Tajikistan. Farhod was arrested immediately upon arrival at the airport in Dushanbe. He's accused of being involved in the Islamic political party Hizb ut Tahrir.
