On Friday 8th September, the United Nations Refugee Agency said that at least 270,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled the Rakhine State in Myanmar in the past 2 weeks to escape the bloodbath being executed by the country’s military and armed Buddhist residents in the province.
Recently a new study showed that six out of ten Danes are supporting a ban of burka and niqab in the public space. Marcus Knuth (Danish Liberal Party) commented on the survey saying regarding the niqab: “…It is women’s oppression, that resembles a social prison.”
