An elderly Palestinian woman was martyred due to her injuries after a brutal assault and severe beating committed by occupation soldiers during a raid on her home in the town of Jayyous, near Qalqilya in the West Bank - Palestine. This attack coincided with a large-scale military campaign launched by the occupation forces in the town, which included raids and searches of several homes and the ransacking of their contents.
This incident comes amidst an escalation in the violations committed by the occupation against the people of Palestine in the cities and villages of the West Bank. Numerous human rights organizations have documented an increase in cases of direct physical assault during night raids, which now target the most vulnerable groups, such as women, children, and the elderly. These raids have resulted in the martyrdom of many, in addition to dozens of injuries and cases of suffocation. A similar incident occurred previously in the village of Al-Mazra'a Al-Qibliya in Ramallah, where an elderly woman lost consciousness after occupation forces stormed her home to arrest her grandson and physically assaulted two other family members, injuring them. The elderly woman was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Under the occupation government’s continuation to strengthen the expansion of settlements in the occupied West Bank, settler attacks have escalated amid heightened regional tensions with the ongoing conflict with Iran. Settlers attacked several Palestinian villages, injuring several people, setting fires, and damaging vehicles. The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported attacks in at least six communities, including the villages of Silat ad-Dhahr and Fandaqumiya near Jenin; Jalud and Salfit south of Nablus; and agricultural areas in Masafer Yatta and the Jordan Valley.
According to data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers carried out more than 443 attacks against the people of Palestine and their property from the beginning of the year until March 15th. These attacks by soldiers and settlers resulted in the martyrdom of 25 Palestinians, the establishment of 14 settlement outposts, the destruction of agricultural lands, and arson.
O Muslims: Do you not see the arrogance of the occupation, which has reached unprecedented levels, showing utter contempt for you all? They closed Al-Aqsa Mosque and desecrate it daily, and no one condemns this! They kill women, children, and the elderly, and they torture and execute prisoners with impunity! They burn, destroy, and uproot homes and trees, while you are preoccupied with worldly matters, submitting to every dictate!
And you, armies of the Muslims: Will your zeal and honour remain absent? Will you continue to turn a deaf ear and close your hearts, even before your eyes, to what is happening? Has the time not come for you to act to rescue them? Won't you participate in the emergence of the dawn of truth and victory instead of remaining in darkness?! The Lord of Glory says:
[إِنَّ مَوْعِدَهُمُ الصُّبْحُ أَلَيْسَ الصُّبْحُ بِقَرِيبٍ]
“Their appointed time is the morning. Is the morning not near?” [Hud: 81].
