Hizb ut Tahrir / East Africa strongly condemns the brutal act of shooting a young man Idris Muhammad aged 26 years in a house at Bondeni, Mombasa due to a terrorism allegation! Soon after his heinous murder, security officials stated that the state would close some Mosques as a move to "combat terrorism". We would like to explain this situation as follows:

These killings show the brutality and cruelty of the police force whose duty is to protect the citizens not to breach their safety. It's unfortunate that in the war against terror, the police force without any warrant and permission from the court constantly raid houses at night with the occupants still asleep and start shooting the suspects even if they surrender to the police! These murders that have been committed frequently and occasionally, have already rendered several homes especially those belonging to Muslims devoid of youngsters who are backbone to their parents.

Shutting down Mosques and monitoring the religious groups, indicate that Kenya has now has entered in the world record of waging war against Islam and Muslims. This attempt aims at stopping and silencing Islam in Kenya. This is injustice against Muslims which leads to Allah's Anger

((وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن مَّنَعَ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّـهِ أَن يُذْكَرَ فِيهَا اسْمُهُ وَسَعَىٰ فِي خَرَابِهَا))

"And who are more unjust than those who forbid that Allah's Name be glorified and mentioned much in Allah's mosques and strive for their ruin?" [al-Baqara: 114]  Do these oppressions faced by Muslims not violate the Constitution of Kenya from which you endorse? Furthermore, do they not contradict with the democratic calls for freedom of worship and expression which it claims?

We state that all these clearly indicate the fallacy of democracy, and that even those who claim to respect man made constitutions are usually the first who work to violate and ignore it.  It's so sad that those who call themselves the Muslim Scholars have not yet taken these as evidence to prove that democracy cannot protect interest of Muslims.  This cruelty against Muslims is a result of the ‘Prevention of Terrorism Bill Act' 2012 which was enacted before Muslims members of Parliament in Oct 2012. We would like to publicly say that terrorism is one of dangerous campaigns that is being used by America to launch wars against Islam and Muslims.

We say, Islam is not breaching peace and why so when it has strong and clear thoughts that are self-explanatory, and convince the mind. These thoughts do not take violence and material approach to implement them into practical life. The reality is the policies of the capitalist governments are the source of global insecurity and instability.

Finally, we believe that Islam will lead the entire world politically, economically and socially and that is when mankind will witness its mercy.
