Welcoming the Visit of Modi: An Open Betrayal of the Blood and Honor of the Muslim Ummah

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to undertake a working visit to Malaysia on February 7-8, 2026, and is reportedly set to receive a grand reception from the government and the Hindu community in Malaysia. This agent of America frequently receives respectful welcomes in many countries globally and is bestowed with numerous awards by the countries he visits, including by the Ruwaibidah (Ignorant and Incompetent) Muslim rulers, to the extent that some are willing to erect idols merely to appease this polytheist leader.

The world today continues to witness how Muslim rulers incessantly display their betrayal against Allah (swt), His Messenger (saw), and the Believers by fraternizing with the enemies of Allah. Furthermore, these rulers demonstrate a total disregard for the sensitivities and dignity of the Muslims by inviting this butcher of the Ummah to their lands. Modi’s crimes against the Muslims in India are no different from the crimes of the Jews against the Muslims in Palestine or the crimes of China against the Uyghur Muslims. The killings, torture, and all forms of tyranny committed by these criminals are witnessed by the entire world, demonstrating their vehement hatred towards Islam and its followers. True is the word of Allah (swt):

[لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ ٱلنَّاسِ عَدَٰوَةً لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱلْيَهُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟]

“You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah.” [Al-Ma’idah (5): 82].

Hizb ut Tahrir / Malaysia hereby expresses its vehement objection, and issues a stern warning to the Malaysian government regarding Modi’s visit. Modi is not merely a foreign head of state; he is a manifest enemy of Islam. He is a symbol of extreme Hindutva ideology that is hostile towards Islam and the Muslim Ummah. Under his leadership, Muslims in India continue to be oppressed, murdered, and treated with brutality. Moreover, he is complicit in the demolition of mosques and the imposition of all forms of discrimination against Muslims in an attempt to drive them away from their religion, aiming to turn India into a Hindu state founded entirely upon an ideology of hatred against Islam. The massacres and oppression in Kashmir are also blood on his hands. In short, his hands remain stained with the blood of Muslims to this day. Welcoming such an individual by rolling out the red carpet is an action that contravenes the Shariah, betrays the blood and dignity of the Muslim Ummah, and deeply wounds the hearts of Muslims, especially those in India and Kashmir.

Welcoming the "Butcher of Gujarat" on the grounds of friendship, diplomatic relations, and economic interests only serves as further evidence that the rulers and the democratic system practiced today have blatantly separated religion from politics and state governance. To them, friendship with the enemies of Allah (swt) and the consideration of trade profits are far more paramount than obeying the commands of Allah (swt), and more important than safeguarding the lives and honor of their brethren. How audacious they are to violate the command of Allah (swt) when He (swt) says:

[لَا يَتَّخِذِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي شَيْءٍ]

“Let not believers take disbelievers as allies [i.e., supporters or protectors] rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing [i.e., no association] with Allah.” [Aali Imran (3): 28].

Indeed, the treachery of the rulers of the Muslims and the weakness of the Ummah—consequences of nation-state borders—have emboldened the enemies of Allah (swt) not only to set foot on Muslim lands but to feel superior to the Muslims, who are forced to honor them despite their clear display of hostility towards Islam. Muslim leaders today are more willing to safeguard their coffers and narrow "national interests" while turning a blind eye to the suffering of their brothers across the borders.

We wish to reiterate that the Malaysian government should not accept Modi’s visit; rather, it should sever all ties with a regime that sheds the blood of Muslims. Remember that an adversary must never be treated as a friend, and the enemy of Allah (swt) must never be taken as an ally. Under leadership that disregards divine law, how many times has the soil of Malaysia been trodden upon by the enemies of Allah (swt) from Britain, China, America, and now India is given the opportunity to defile it. These rulers forget that power is merely temporary, and they will be held accountable before Allah (swt) on who they befriended and who they allowed to be oppressed.

Verily, this Ummah is in dire need of the leadership of a Caliph (Khalifah) who is God-fearing, courageous, and firm—one who will treat enemies as enemies and friends as friends. This Caliph will not only refuse to let his brothers be killed, but he will also not allow their dignity to be tarnished even the slightest. Should any enemy dare to do so, the answer given to them will be what they shall see, not what they shall hear. Indeed, the return of the Caliph is imminent, by the permission of Allah (swt).
