US-Sponsored Paris Talks:
A Disguised Security Normalization and Serious Repercussions for Syrian Sovereignty and the Principles of the Revolution

A new round of talks between Syria and ‘Israel’, sponsored by the United States, concluded yesterday, Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in Paris, and resulted in the "establishment of a liaison cell to exchange intelligence information and reduce military escalation."

A joint Syrian-‘Israeli’ statement issued by the US State Department said that senior officials from ‘Israel’ and Syria met in Paris and affirmed their commitment to reaching permanent arrangements for the security and stability of both countries. The statement revealed the establishment of a joint integration mechanism, a liaison cell for immediate intelligence coordination and de-escalation. The joint mechanism also includes diplomatic and commercial engagement under US supervision. The statement indicated that the joint Syrian-Israeli mechanism will serve as a platform to address any disputes quickly.

Reuters quoted a Syrian official as saying that this initiative is a "historic opportunity" to advance negotiations between Syria and Israel "in a positive way".

A Syrian government source told the official Syrian news agency SANA that the talks "focus on reactivating the 1974 disengagement agreement, which guarantees the withdrawal of ‘Israeli’ forces to the lines prior to December 8, 2024," stressing the commitment to achieving "an equitable security agreement."

US envoy to Syria Tom Barrak said that negotiations between Syrian and ‘Israeli’ officials had achieved a "significant breakthrough," emphasizing that Damascus harbors no hostile intentions toward ‘Israel’, and that the outcome of the talks reflects "a shared and strong desire on both sides to move from denial to genuine cooperation."

It is worth noting that ‘Israel’ has occupied several areas in Syria and seized control of the buffer zones adjacent to the Golan Heights, which it occupied in 1967. Furthermore, ‘Israeli’ forces conduct almost daily incursions into Syrian territory, arresting civilians, destroying crops, and firing on residents. The ‘Israeli’ army has also launched airstrikes that have killed civilians and destroyed Syrian army positions, vehicles, weapons, and ammunition.

What transpired in the Paris talks, and in the preceding meetings, statements, and positions, constitutes a betrayal of the revolution's principles and all the slogans its people championed, especially those who assumed power in Syria after the flight of the head of the defunct regime. It is also a betrayal of the martyrs' blood and the immense sacrifices of the people of Syria, who offered their lives willingly for the sake of Allah and to defend their faith and Ummah. What crime could be greater than surrendering their holy sites to the Jews and submitting to American dictates, to the point that, Allah forbid, we might join the Abraham Accords, which are in reality a war on Islam and its people disguised under the glittering banners of peace and prosperity!

It is incumbent upon the sons of the Ummah in general, and the mujahideen and the sincere sons of ash-Sham and its revolution in particular, to take decisive measures regarding these negotiations with the Jews and the dangerous decisions that result from them, in order to hold accountable all those who have compromised our sovereignty and want to compromise our holy sites, justifying this with alleged national gains.

Giving up sovereignty, handing over the decision to the American envoy Thomas Barrak, and following America’s plans that run amok in the world and spread its crimes and conspiracies in all Muslim countries, and what happened in Gaza is not far from us, this defeatist approach will only lead us to more loss and humiliation and will put the country, its resources and its people in the hands of America and its henchmen.

O Truthful People of the Land of Syria:

The negotiations and agreements reached with the Jews, particularly the establishment of security coordination committees to guarantee the safety of their borders, represent a grave danger and a perilous path that must be confronted, resisted, and warned against. Do not be deceived by the justifications of those who have surrendered from within. Let us return to Allah by implementing His law and establishing His rule on Earth, so that Allah may be with us, our Protector, and our Helper.

The Jewish entity is a usurping power with which neither appeasement nor peace messages will suffice. The conflict with it is an existential struggle, not a border dispute. Any attempt at normalization, coexistence, or peace with it, regardless of its justifications, is a grave crime, a disgrace, and a profound betrayal of the sacrifices of fourteen years of revolution. It is a capitulation to American dictates and serves only the interests of America and the Jewish entity.

Will the honest people of Syria accept this, or will they speak out before it is too late?
