32 years of Rahmon's Rule: From Civil War to ‘Paradise Country’

News:

Tajikistan: President Emomali Rahmon and Chairman of the Madzhlisi Milli Madzhlisi Oli Rustam Emomali today, 22 February, took part in a military parade to mark the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan. The parade was held at the National Guard base and was attended by servicemen of the Dushanbe garrison's security forces, the press service of the Dushanbe City Hall reported.

‘Emomali Rahmon greeted the personnel and congratulated everyone on the holiday of the formation of the Armed Forces. He expressed his opinion on the defence of the achievements of an independent state and the calm atmosphere of this paradise-like country,’- the report said.

Comment:

At the parade, the president called Tajikistan a ‘paradise country’, but he was probably referring to his home and family. After all, it was during the 32 years of his rule that almost all of the president's family occupied high positions in the country. At the same time, the real situation for the people is far from ideal: in winter there are still restrictions on electricity, and even in major cities this remains a serious problem. In addition, Tajikistan is considered one of the poorest countries in Central Asia and by most indicators ranks last in the region, let alone globally.

Emomali Rahmon, as the head of the country, instead of really analysing the situation and the development of the state, once again limited himself to formulaic phrases, intimidating the people with ‘external threats’ such as extremism and terrorism, and once again reminded them of the civil war.

‘It should be noted that the Armed Forces, other military structures and law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan conscientiously fulfilled their patriotic duty during the extremely vulnerable and fateful times of the first years of independence, especially during the civil war, which really created a threat of the disintegration of the nation and the disappearance of the state of Tajiks,’ Rahmon said.

The President also noted: ‘The unprecedented expansion of the activities of extremist and terrorist movements and groups, drug trafficking, cybercrime and other transnational organised crimes makes the responsibility of military personnel and law enforcement officers an increasingly important and urgent task.’.

Another reference to the civil war after 32 years of Emomali Rahmon's rule emphasises the lack of meaningful progress in the country's development. The president simply has nothing to say about real achievements. Such rhetoric remains the main tool of corrupt dictators who, instead of sincerely serving the people and developing the country, initially seek only to preserve their power by continuing their crimes against Islam and Muslims.

The Muslims of Tajikistan will continue to suffer under the rule of tyrant Rahmon until they take the solution to this problem into their own hands and engage in real changes in the country. Radical change of the vicious reality and true development is possible only on the basis of Islam, and in the bosom of the Islamic system of government under the leadership of a righteous ruler. And therefore, only work on revival of Islamic way of life by the method of Prophethood is the salvation of Muslims of Tajikistan. Allah Almighty has said:

[إِن تَنصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ]

“If you stand up for Allah, He will help you and make your steps firm” [47:7].
