How Did the Leadership of Pakistan Squander Its Dignity Before India and Trump?!
(Translated)

The political and military leadership of Pakistan squandered the victory achieved by the falcons of its Air Force, and the lions of its army, over India in May, delivering a lesson India will never forget, by accepting a ceasefire between the two countries. This is despite India’s insistence on suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, and depriving Pakistan of nearly 80% of the water that flows to it from the Indus River, which originates in China, passes through India, and then enters Pakistan. This is also despite India still continuing its occupation of Kashmir... Then, after US President Donald Trump’s mediation to impose a ceasefire between the two sides, and rescue India from the trap it had set for itself, due to a miscalculation of power dynamics, the Pakistani government announced, on 21 June 2025, its nomination of US President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, claiming it was for his “diplomatic engagement with both Islamabad and New Delhi which de-escalated a rapidly deteriorating situation” between Pakistan and India in May.

The Pakistani government’s statement said, “At a moment of heightened regional turbulence, President Trump demonstrated great strategic foresight and stellar statesmanship through robust diplomatic engagement with both Islamabad and New Delhi which de-escalated a rapidly deteriorating situation, ultimately securing a ceasefire and averting a broader conflict between the two nuclear states that would have had catastrophic consequences for millions of people in the region and beyond.” The statement added “The Government of Pakistan also acknowledges and greatly admires President Trump’s sincere offers to help resolve the longstanding dispute of Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan—an issue that lies at the heart of regional instability.”

In a stark contrast between Pakistan’s stance, which was supposedly that of the victor in the war, and India’s stance which should have been that of the defeated, India’s stance was more self-respecting and independent than Pakistan’s submissive one. India’s Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Randhir Jaiswal, rejected Trump’s claims that the United States had offered trade incentives to both India and Pakistan, in exchange for ceasing hostilities, whilst hinting at suspending trade relations if they did not comply. Jaiswal affirmed that the ceasefire was a sovereign decision made by the military leadership of both countries, without any external intervention. Pakistan did not deny these statements, which indicates that its military leadership betrayed the Ummah and squandered victory unilaterally without, even the presence of a mediator, or any threat from Trump. The announcement of Trump’s nomination also coincided with Pakistan Army Chief Munir’s visit to the United States, and his meeting with Trump, at the White House, just one day before the US and the Jewish state jointly, bombed three nuclear reactors in Iran.

Despite widespread public opposition in Pakistan to this nomination, especially after Trump’s involvement in supporting the war against Iran and his continued funding and arming of the Jewish state, which has killed over 100,000 people in Gaza, the regime still describes him as a “man of peace”! How can someone whose hands drip with the blood of Muslims be given the title of “man of peace”?!

The outrageousness of this nomination even pushed several figures within the ruling factions to break their silence and denounce the decision. Former senator Mushahid Hussain posted on the platform X, “Since Trump is no longer a potential peacemaker, but a leader who has willfully unleashed an illegal war, [the] Pakistan government must now review, rescind and revoke his Nobel nomination.” Jamaat-e-Islami’s leader, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, called the decision a “national disgrace,” adding that Trump openly supports the massacres committed by the Jewish entity against Palestinians. Member of Parliament Ali Muhammad Khan urged the government to reconsider the decision, citing US aggression against Iran. A former Pakistani ambassador to Washington described the nomination as cheap political flattery, stressing that it does not reflect the views of the Pakistani people. It is clear that the government made this decision out of flattery toward Trump, not out of respect for the people’s will, or their belonging to the Ummah and loyalty to its causes.

Under a regime governed by personal gain and narrow self-interest, figures like the Army Chief Munir push forward their own interests and financial dealings, supported by faint voices such as that of former ambassador Javed Hafeez, who tried to justify the nomination by claiming that Pakistan achieved two benefits: first, maintaining a friendly relationship with Trump, who might once again mediate with India; and second, embarrassing India, which refuses any third-party mediation.

However, can any sane person believe that Trump is a “man of peace” when he ignited wars and massacres in the Muslim World within less than six months of assuming office? Is it reasonable to think that he is a friend to Islamabad, while being a strategic ally of India? Does Trump even believe in friendship with anyone, when he shifts his stances and statements overnight? Can anyone truly believe that Trump would prioritize Muslim Pakistan over Hindu mushrik India, his favored partner in the region? And is India really embarrassed by Pakistan’s nomination of Trump, or is the truth that Pakistan has humiliated itself with this disgraceful act?
